One of the things I did today

I had an interesting meet up today with a guy who works with homeless/street people in this city.  He has purchased a building (well almost) and has set up a drop in centre.  I dropped in on the place today and he just happened to be in so I finally got to meet him.  We [...]

Things I have not liked doing this week

- Setting a working daughter straight – I was not going to pay for her hair just because she thinks I should. – letting her grouch about the above and while she did that keeping my mouth shut.  I think she understood the point even if she did not like it. – dealing with a [...]

Good news

Patrick called us last night pretty excited.  Finally he has a date to take the exam for Canadian Citizenship.  A long time waiting.  It will be good.  He will have freedom to travel.  Most of us have never experienced the restrictions to travel like a Congolese does all the time.

Please pray

The situation in the Congo is not good right now.  A good friend of mine, Dr. Roger Thorpe, was on the way to the airport last week and was caught in the violence.  He and a travelling pastor are to evacuate today. Pray for their safety.  Pray for the Congolese caught with no place to [...]

Density and Vitamin D

Waking Up

The sky was lighting up as I drove to work this morning.  There was a low rim of clouds on the horizon, a break and then clouds that filled the dome of the sky.  The orange of the rising sun filled the gap.   I love sunrises and sunsets.    They speak to me of [...]

You've Got to Love

…a patient who slips a handful of Lindor chocolate balls into your pocket as you do her dental check-up.

Bronze

St Mary Senior A girls team placed third in their section with a bronze. Way to go girls.  They beat Carlton they did!  That, being a close to home rivalry, may have counted for more than the bronze. Now that basketball is over, the studying had better begin in ernest.  Not much time left in [...]

Hoopla

It is Hoopla weekend in Regina.  The St Mary Senior girls and guys teams are going as well as the Carlton Senior girls.  Three teams from PA is pretty good in this major invitational meet.  The girls won their seat in it last weekend at a tournament in MooseJaw.  Sara is on her way and [...]
